boxer shorts and bras

I recently came across an article in vogue from 2012 that contained a photograph of paul smith and alexa chung, with alexa holding a baby.

Im not entirely sure what the article was trying to get at, but to me it created an iconic picture. Paul smith is renound for his designs of femininity, especially in his recent menswear collections, with floral patterns and fitted garments. On the other hand Alexa Chung is an icon for her tomboyish style and strong opinions on feminism and the fashion industry. Together these two create a strong image, I see the baby Alexa is holding as a link between the two of them, portraying a unison between menswear and womenswear and breaking any divide there was between them.
Recent collections in fashion week throughout the world have started to display a break through this divide, Menswear has become more fitted or tailored, and womenswear has developed into loose fittings and unpadded bras.

In the world today, clothing is our second skin and a strong form of expression. We show our personality and style through the clothes we wear, the stores we shop, the shoes we have on our feet. Sometimes I think that people forget how important fashion really is and the real side of it gets lost in the commercial side.

I personally have ever felt comfortable in tight dresses or skirts or clothes that you could class as 'feminine' or 'girly'. To be honest I've always appreciated menswear more and lost heart over the fact it felt socially unacceptable to buy and wear anything from the mens section. As I've grown up I've found myself alot more and found the confidence to wear clothing I love and feel comfortable in, I fucking love walking around in low rise jeans with comfy pants and baggy tops with my docs, and I fucking love the fact half my head is shaved. How can you walk around feeling like you cant show who you are through something thats almost compulsory to everyday life. Its such an attractive trate to find people who dress how they feel rather than what they feel other people would necessarily approve of.

So many strong men and women abide by the rule that is "just fucking wear what you fucking want" and I tell you now that is why theyre so strong in the first place. A man isn't gay because he wears tight clothes and a woman isnt a 'dyke' because she's walking around in baggy clothes or a suit. They're just really fucking cool.
